DOCUMENT CHECKING SERVICES

With the 2012 Olympics less than 12 months away and counting....

It is essential that as an employer you ensure that each prospective worker or existing worker is eligible to work in the UK. By doing this you will have established a 'statutory excuse' against being liable to pay a fine (known as a ‘civil penalty’ of £10,000 per person) for employing an illegal worker as outlined in the guidelines issued by THE HOME OFFICE

The guidelines list the appropriate documentation that can be accepted by employers; once the potential employee has presented you with these necessary document(s), you must be able to:-

• Satisfy yourself that the document(s) are valid and genuine, and have not been tampered with
• Check that any photographs and birth dates on the documents match the applicant's appearance
• Check information in the job application against the documents to ensure the details match up
• Check that the document(s) allow the worker to do the work on offer

To assist you with this Reikan Security services Ltd (RSS), offer a service that will:-

• Interrogate the security features of a document issued by Governments, organisations or regulatory bodies.
• Confirms whether dates are valid
• Confirms if document security or number algorithms.( MRZ) machine readable zones are matched.
• Checks the status of the document against maintained global databases which record lost, stolen or cancelled documents.
• Check the person presenting the document is in fact the person shown.

The scanner used by RSS is fast, accurate and uses a variety of light sources and RFID to verify documents, such as passports, driving licences, work and residency permits.

All scanned data is recorded where the information can be forensically examined and verified by the system operator. A central feature of this service is the preventative aspect. Once fraudulent individuals are aware that the Documentation that they offer as proof of identity and ability to work in the UK will be electronically scanned and interrogated; a percentage will discontinue their application. This minimises wasted management time interviewing and ultimately, recruiting the wrong employee.

Our extensive information sources provide reports that give an extremely high confidence in the authenticity of an individual’s official documents. The VeriScan system used by RSS is a global solution that validates the supporting documents employers should be able to rely on when interviewing job applicants; and is deemed as positive proof that candidates are who they really say they are.

Our scanning service consists of an operator attending your property in order to carry out up to 100 passport verification scans. This service also includes a download of the scans onto a CD which can then be linked to HR, ERP or Pay Roll System's, that you may use to establish a “ STATUTORY EXCUSE” in that you can demonstrate that you enforce 'Right to Work in the UK'.
